8-yr-old girl shot for pouring colours on a man

Shahdol (MP), Mar 11: Shelly Gupta, an eight-year old girl was shot in both her legs on Wednesday, Mar 11 by a person when she tried to pour colours on him on Holi at Parmaniya Khurd village here.

When Shelly tried pouring colours on a fishermen, Mohammad Rashid of Singpur village he opened fire with his gun at a group of children celebrating Holi, Kotwali Police Station In-charge Vijay Pratap Singh said.

She was rushed to the Shahdol District Hospital for treatment where the doctors said that she was out of danger. Hearing gunshots, the villagers gathered and beat up Rashid and later handed him over to police, Singh said.

A case has been filed against Rashid, Pratap added.
