Sky News appoints special Twitter reporter

London, Mar 6: It seems the social networking site 'Twitter' is gaining momentum at a rapid rate. Sky news on Friday, Mar 6 appointed a special reporter to trawl Twitter for breaking news. Recently Queen Elizabeth of Britain joined Twitter to become the first royal member joining the site.

During the 2008 US presidential campaigns hundreds of people used Twitter as a publicity mechanism, including the current President Barack Obama.
