National Conference of Women in Police
New Delhi, Mar 6 (ANI): The Bureau of Police Research and Development, Ministry of Home Affairs and Haryana Police will organise the third National Conference of Women in Police from March 7-9 at Panchkula in Haryana.
The main theme of the Conference will be: "Optimizing the Contribution of Women in Police to the Organisation and Society". Besides, it will also touch upon the sub themes like: ainstreaming of Women, Professional grooming and Contribution to Society.
The Conference is a part of the project "Springboard Women Development Programme" jointly sponsored by the British Council Division, British High Commission, New Delhi and Ministry of Home Affairs.
The purpose of the programme is to enable the women to realize their full potential to face the challenges of their job.
The first National Conference for women in Police was held in New Delhi in February, 2002 which was attended by women delegates from 28 States and three UTs. The second Conference was organized at Mussoorie in July, 2005 in collaboration with the Uttarakhand Police
As the number of women in Indian police is increasing day by day, so are their problems due to performing the dual job as police women and a housekeeper.
The Conference is organized by BPRD for gender sensitization and enhancing their role as policewomen while shouldering their responsibility as women in the society. (ANI)
