Hyderabad, Mar 6: The state of Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for the Lok Sabha polls and the politicians are already showering promises to woo voters. To counter the present Congress government's populist schemes, Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party the chief opposition and the newest entrant to state politics, Megastar Chiranjeevi's Prajarajyam are promising voters free colour tv and even cash.

Like DMK in Tamil Nadu, TDP is offering colour televisions to all poor families and has also promised cash doles. To woo women voters the party even promised to pay cash to the female member of the families. Chandrababu Naidu who once strongly opposed freebies now defend his party's initiative a necessity for infotainment.

Meanwhile the Congress party has opposed Naidu's move claiming that it will mislead people and criticised TDP chief for condradicting what he said in his book 'Plainspeaking' in which he called for doing away with all the sops as they amount to cheating the people.

Chiranjeevi on the otherhand has promised free education to all. His Prajarajyam has promised to continue the free electricity scheme and to increase the supply to 10 hours instead of present 7 hours. Chiru's party went on to say that if voted to power will provide free education for girls from 'KG to PG' and to all students belong economically backward classes.
