Volkswagen to launch Beetle in India in Oct

Geneva, Mar 3: Luxury car maker Volkswagen, despite global slump is will launch the original 'people's car' Beetle in India by Oct and the Polo hatchback by early 2010. The automaker also said that it will go on with the decision to invest Rs 3,600 cr in its Pune plant in India to aument its production capacity.

The company sources said that while Polo will be manufatured in India, the Beetle will be brought as completely built unit (CBU) in India.
