Security to SL cricketers 'hopeless': Chidambaram
New Delhi, Mar 3: Stating that security provided for Sri Lankan players were 'hopelessly inadequate', Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram condemned terrorist attacks on the players that left police personnel dead and seven to eight players injured.
"It is shocking," Chidambaram told reporters, reacting to the shootout in Lahore's Liberty Market crossing. The gunmen had used grenades and rocket launchers to attack.
Thilan Samaraweera and Upul Tharanga Paranavitharana were seriously injured and are now out of danger.
