Mumbai plays host to a dog show
Mumbai, Mar 2 (ANI): Mumbai played host to a dog show that witnessed around 150 varieties of dogs entertain the audience.
The dog show was jointly organized by Bombay Veterinary College and The Indian National Kennel Club.
Pet animal practices are progressing very fast in the country and the sector is offering a lot of job opportunities for the veterinary graduates.
Abdul Samad, Dean, Bombay Veterinary College said that one of the aims of organizing the dog show was to acquaint the students with the different breeds and respective characterises of dogs.
"We wanted that our students should be exposed to how a show is organized. We should expose them about different breeds, about different physical characteristics, about obedience, behavior and related things.
So we thought that this will be a good opportunity for the students to learn the organizational, smaller points and then also understand the world of dogs," said Samad.
Vasant Kudva, one of the participants at the dog show, said that it proved to be a good outing for his pet.
"My family helps me in taking care of these dogs. We take them out, feed them and give them bath to keep them ready for the competition," said Kudva.
Awards like most well dressed dog, best dog and other features were some of the other attractions for the onlookers. (ANI)
