Farewell session of 14th Lok Sabha on Feb 26
New Delhi, Feb 26: The last sitting of the current Lok Sabha will begin on Thursday, Feb 26. Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh who is recovering from a coronary bypass heart surgery is unlikely to attend the session. Earlier there were rumours that PM will make a brief address before the Parliament adjourns sine die.
Meanwhile the Parliamentary Affairs minister Vayalar Ravi said that there is no reason to dissolve the Parliament ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. Unlike UPA, the BJP led NDA government had dissolved the House in 2004 to advance elections under its 'India Shining' campaign. In the wake of nearing general elections UPA government has tabled several pro-election bills in the last session of Parliament.
