Dharvi residents happy at being flashed across the world
Mumbai/Patna, Feb 24 (ANI): Residents of Dharavi in Mumbai, the setting for the Oscar-nominated 'Slumdog Millionaire', have said they are happy that their place of residence was flashed across the world.
"I am very happy as Azhar and Rubina who went to Oscars and bought Oscars for us, and bought fame for our country. I hope that the name of Dharavi would be echoed at every corner of the world," said Shirin, a girl fromharavi.
They cut a cake to mark the moment.
"We cut the cake and distributed it among children to mark the occasion," said Hari, another resident.
Patna celebrated the gala success of the film by splashing about in colours as if the annual festival of colours was on them.
Residents termed the occasion as a matter of great enjoyment for everyndian.
"This is a unique occasion as a film based in India won eight Oscars. This is a matter of great enjoyment for the Indians," said Sanjeev, a resident. (ANI)
