Somnath regrets; wishes goodluck to MPs
New Delhi, Feb 20: Somnath Chatterjee, Lok Sabha Speaker on Thursday, Feb 19 had wished that members creating ruckus in the house do not get elected again. Somnath on Friday, Feb 20 regretted for such comments made by him and said that he made the statement in 'little frustration'. He also extended good wishes to all members on Friday, Feb 20.
"Yesterday, I made some comments out of little frustration. I want all of you, who were standing here, to come back if people support you," he said.
The speaker was frustrated when members of the BSP, BJP, TDP, RPI, PMK and MDMK created ruckus in the house by shouting slogans against the Government on various issues.
Displaying his displeasure, Chatterjee had said, "I hope that all of you are defeated in the election. I hope the people will give their verdict properly. You have to be taught a lesson."
