Centre taking all supportive measures to boost economy: Mukherjee
New Delhi, Feb 19 (ANI): Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today said the Central Government is taking all supportive measures to boost the Indian economy in the context of global meltdown.
While replying to questions in the Rajya Sabha, Mukherjee highlighted the need for fiscal and monetary corrections in the economy.
About the impact of global recession's on India, Mukherjee said it was marginal upto now, but the full assessment of the situation will take some time.
He said that recession has set in if the country shows signs of negative growth in the review of two successive quarters.
He further admitted that there has been a slow down in the export sector from 26 per cent to 17 per cent in October last year. (ANI)
