Sapient slashes 500 employees
New Delhi, Feb 14: It seems 'global recession' is heading towards 'global depression'. Now its software major Sapient's turn.
Unable to bear the financial slump, Sapient slashed 500 employees from Bangalore, Noida and Gurgaon offices.
Employees have been laid-off from Sapient's offices in Bangalore, Noida and Gurgaon, confirmed Sapient sources.
However, no notice was given to the laid-off employees. Employees were not allowed to enter the premises in Gurgaon on Friday, Feb 13 and Saturday, Feb 14. Armed guards were deployed around the office.
Sapient employs about 6,000 people in India.
