Samajwadi Party would support Congress but not surrender, says Amar Singh

Bijnor, Feb 14 (ANI): Inaugurating a party office at village Dewal near the river Ganga on February 14, Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh took the opportunity to express his party's support to the Congress in the forthcoming elections.

However, Singh clarified that Samajwadi Party would support the Congress but not surrender to it.

He urged the political parties in Uttar Pradesh to cooperate in forming a secular government in the state and asserted that those political parties which are making a noise over Kalyan Singh joining Samajwadi Party are supporting communalism.

Earlier in the day, Singh accused the Congress of "fanning" the issue of tie-up with Kalyan Singh.

"If we are ready to shake hands with Congress, that too as an active partner ready to save government and their nuclear deal...why not shake hands with Kalyan Singh's ideology of opposing BJP," said Singh.

However, After Singh has strongly dismissed the argument that the Samajwadi party would collapse without the support of Congress. (ANI)
