V-day: Pramod Muthalik in police custody till Feb 14
Mangalore, Feb 13: Pramod Muthalik, the chief of infamous Sri Ram Sena chief was arrested by the Gulbarga police on Friday, Feb 13 around 5 pm. He will be in police custody till Saturday, Feb 14 night. Reports suggest that about 138 people are arrested in Bangalore alone. Police sources said more arrests are likely.
Karnataka government said that Muthalik will in preventive custody. Government took this measure to prevent unwanted incidents on the Valentine's Day. Muthalik and his Sena have warned earlier of disrupting the V-day celebrations alleging it is not part of the Indian culture.
Muthalik's deputy and key other Sena members are also in police custody.
Sri Ram Sena and its leader Muthalik came to lime light after their attack on women in a Mangalore based pub 'Amnesia'. The Sena attacked women alleging that they were spoiling Indian culture going to pub. They even molested women in the pub.
