Manmohan Singh recovering well after by-pass surgery
New Delhi, Jan 26: Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who underwent a successful coronary by-pass surgery to overcome multiple blockages, is recovering well said the doctors who are attending on him on Monday, Jan 26.
Dr Vijay D'Silva, who is taking care of Prime Minister in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) ICU said that Manmohan Singh is recovering well. First by-passes were done to overcome the blockages to PM's heart at AIIMS on Saturday, Jan 24. A team of doctors from Asian Heart Institute, Mumbai performed the over 11-hour-long operation on the Prime Minister. They were assisted by three AIIMS doctors and several support staff.
Prime Minister's personal physician Dr K S Reddy, said that in four weeks Manmohan Singh can get back to work and could be fit even for a public meeting. The date of Prime Minister's discharge from hospital is not been finalised.
