Infy, Wipro, 2 other IT majors get terror e-mail

Bangalore, Jan 4: Major IT firms, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, and Cranes Software in Bangalore have received a terror e-mail leading to a high alert. A terror threat to IT firms in silicon city might not be anything new. But preliminary investigations show that the threat should not be taken lightly.

Karnataka Police has gripped up security around major software firms viewing a threat from an email which originated in USA. The email warns the IT firms the blocking of a Youtube channel will not deter terrorists from carrying out their task of targeting major software firms.

Additional Commissioner, Gopal B Hosur confirmed that Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini and Accenture have received threat mails and added that security has been beefed up and they are not taking any chance.

He said, "An email is doing the rounds which has been taken seriously and we have beefed the security for all the IT firms in the city and not taking anything lightly."

IT capitals major software firms have been in the crosshairs of terrorists groups for a long time and this time around every threat will be given utmost attention to avoid any dire consequences.
