Kalam stress on national campaign to eradicate terrorism

New Delhi, Dec 19: A national campaign should be formulated for eradication of terrorism, expressed former President Dr Kalam said speaking to media on the sidelines of a seminar.

He also called for fast delivery of justice and eradication of poverty as part of the national campaign. On being asked whether India was capable of defending itself in case of war, Dr Kalam said India is a nuclear power and therefore it has the strength to defend herself.

"We are a big nation of .... a billion people. We have declared in our nuclear policy we will not be the first in the Asian continent to deploy nuclear weapons because what does it mean, it means strength we have," he added.
