BSE Sensex surges 472 pts, closes at 9219.84

Just in: At 03.50 pm Bombay Stock Exchange"s Sensex closed at 9219.84, up 472.41 points or 5.40 per cent. The 30-share index touched an intra-day high of 9245.06 and a low of 8726.71. Nifty, National Stock Exchange's benchmark index ended at 2785.55, up 4.86 per cent or 129.10 points.

BSE Midcap Index was 3.24 per cent up and BSE Smallcap Index moved 2.05 per cent higher.

Taking cues from the easing inflation at 2:17 pm, Bombay Stock Exchange"s Sensex surges to 9059.02, up by 311.59 points or 3.56 per cent. While National Stock Exchange"s Nifty was at 2747.65, up 3.43 per cent or 91.2 points.

Mumbai, Dec 4: Markets open green on Thursday, Dec 4. National Stock Exchange"s benchmark Nifty was up 1.35 points to 2657.80. Bombay Stock Exchange"s 30-share index Sensex climbed 31.59 points to 8779.02 from Wednesday"s close.

Asian markets were also trading higher with the Nikkei up 0.5 per cent, the Topix gaining 0.1 per cent, Hang Seng climbing 1.81 per cent and Straits Times rising 1.99 per cent.
