Police convenes meeting with hotel owners after Mumbai fiasco

Puducherry, Nov 30 (UNI) In the wake of terror attack in Mumbai, Puducherry police convened a meeting with hotel and lodge owners here today.

In the meeting, it was decided to install cameras in the reception hall of hotels and lodges to monitor the guests checking in.

Over 100 hotel and lodge-owners and managers attended the meeting convened by Superintendent of Police (North) Mr Sivadasan.

It was decided to properly verify the identity cards of the guests, if any, their full address in their own handwriting to inform the police, if the room was found locked from inside for more than a day.

It was also decided to properly enquire the people, who visit the guests, and not to allow them to stay overnight.

In case of foreigners, it was decided that a xerox copy of their passports would be sent to police station for verification.
