Marathas demand inclusion in OBC category, 30 pc reservation

Nanded, Maharashtra, Nov 30 (UNI) The Sambhaji Brigade, a Maratha youth organisation in the state, has threatened to launch a statewide agitation, if Marathas are not included in the Other Backward Caste category and granted 30 per cent reservation within one month.

The organisation announced the decision at a state-level conference held here today and stated that an application regarding this has already been submitted to the state government by them.

The organisation state chief Mr Anant Chonde said the Maratha community has been tolerating humility and disgrace of the government for the last 60 years of independence and nobody is bothered about it. Mr Chonde said democracy is useless if justice is not done with the economically downtrodden people of the nation.

He criticised the political parties for not being concerned over the issue.
