5 bogies of goods train derail, one killed
Nashik, Nov 30: Altogether five bogies of a goods train, carrying coal to Nashik Thermal Power Station (NTPS), derailed in Eklahara siding near Odha junction killing one person here on Sunday, Nov 30.
Railway police officials informed that the wagons of 51-bogey goods train derailed between 9ph-1 to 9ph-6 locations of the track.
The officials are suspecting that some strong object was placed on the tracks that led to the derailment.
Railway officials, along with officials from Maharashtra State Power Generation Corporation Limited (MSPGCL), have rushed to the site for further investigation.
The body of the victim, identified as Bharat Dhamore, has been recovered from the site.
Incidents of coal-thefts are regular in this area, especially when the train runs at the speed of two to five kmph, railway police officials informed.
