Mah: Ratan Tata surbeys Hotel Taj
Mumbai, Nov 29: Tata Group and Indian Hotels chairman Ratan Tata on Saturday, Nov 29 surveyed the damaged Taj Mahal and Palace Hotel, that was the battleground for security personnel and terrorists since Nov 26.
On reaching the hotel front on morning, Mr Tata was immediately briefed on the status quo by his executives.
Though 'Operation Cyclone' is not yet officially over, the 200 strong National Security Guard (NSG) personnel, armed with AK-47s, MP-5 sub-machine guns, sniper rifles and sniffer dogs, took control of the building in the early hours today.
The last stage of the three-day siege saw three more terrorists gunned down. The NSG also blew up a captured cache of ammunition half an hour after the fighting ceased.
Security personnel and medical teams are moving in to mop up the inside of the hotel and search for survivors.
