NSG commando killed in Nariman House operation
Mumbai, Nov 28 (UNI) A commando of the elite National Security Guards (NSG) Havaldar Gajinder Singh fell to the bullets of the insurgents while freeing the Nariman House from the grip of the terrorists here today.
In the operation that concluded this evening, nearly 46 hours after the terrorist besieged the city, two terrorists were killed, while five hostages also lost their lives, sources from the security agencies said.
Speaking to mediapersons, J Dutt, the chief of the NSG unit fighting it out at Nariman House, said the objective of the terrorists in holding this building for more than 46 hours cannot be explained.
Mr Dutt also said, ''When we started this operation, we wanted to ensure that no hostage or civilian received any injuries. However, we could not save lives of five hostages.'' The security forces continued to battle it out with the terrorists at Hotel Taj Mahal, as operation at the Hotel Trident got over successfully.
