Modi doing politics on bodies: Cong
Ahmedabad, Nov 29 (UNI) Gujarat Pradesh Congress chief Siddharth Patel today flayed Chief Minister Narendra Modi for playing politics on dead bodies.
Mr Patel alleged when the nation was grief-stricken because of the unprecendented terror attack on Mumbai, Mr Modi did not miss a chance to do politics there.
Mr Patel said ''Instead of paying tribute to the men who laid down their lives during the war against terror, Mr Modi tried to weigh it in the money which is condemnable. Now even the families of the martyrs have refused to accept the cash aid declared by Mr Modi.'' ''Few days ago, Mr Modi had levelled allegations against slain Maharashtra ATS chief Hemant Karkare of having links with Dubai. He even went to the extent of calling him a traitor. Now that Mr Karkare has sacrificed his life to defend Mumbai, Mr Modi is shedding crocodile tears,'' the Gujarat Congress chief charged.
Mr Patel suggested ''We should put politics aside when the nation is faced with such a grave challenge''.
