Karawal Nagar sector officer suspended
New Delhi, Nov 29 (UNI) The Delhi Election Commission (EC) today suspended the sector officer of Karawal Nagar in North East Delhi Shafi Ahmed for violating the model code of conduct by setting up a polling booth across the road.
Mr Ahmed was suspended as the setting up of the polling booth across the road resulted in obstruction of regular traffic in the area, thus violating the EC's model code of conduct, sources in the Delhi EC said.
The Karawal Nagar Assembly seat is witnessing a straight electoral contest between Mr Diwan Singh Nayal of the Congress and Mr Mohan Singh Bisht of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
