VHP leader gets bail in SMSes case from Guj HC
Ahmedabad, Nov 28 (UNI) Gujarat High Court today granted bail to Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Ashwin Patel in the case of circulating 'Defamatory SMSes' against Chief Minister Narendra Modi and his government during Assembly Election of December-2007.
Mr Patel was arrested by the Gandhinagar Police on the eve of Diwali for his alleged involvement in the case.
He has been charged under various sections of the IPC including 124A (sedition).
Earlier, lower courts in Gandhinagar had refused bail to Patel.
