TN to implement World Bank project
Tiruchirapally, Nov 28 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Public Works Department Minister Duraimurugan today said the implementation of the Rs 5,100 crore World Bank Project to modernise the Cauvery Delta Zone would be the panacea to the flood problems in the region.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the 14-member task force headed by Tiruchy Region Chief Engineer K Nagarajan had submitted its report. It envisages the need to improve the 100-year-old regulators and construction of new ones linking rivers to the channels.
He said the state government would seek funds for flood relief from the Centre after assessing the damage in the rains.
