Record business by India Post during Bharat Nirman PIC in Andaman

Port Blair, Nov 28 (UNI) The India Post stall at the Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign at remote Diglipur village of North Andaman Islands broke all previous records for business mobilisation in short duration drives.

The stall was visited by hundreds of residents everyday during the five-day long Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign and apart from disseminating information to the visitors at the stall, the India Post team also fanned out in different villages to give information about the different postal schemes.

As a result, the department received huge response from the public. About 400 customers applied for PLI/ RPLI policies worth more than Rs 4.75 crore and scores of postal savings accounts during BNPIC,'' said Ms Madhumita Das, the Director of India Post in Andaman.
