REC approves Rs93cr power development scheme for 7 Haryana distr
Hisar, Nov 28 (UNI) State-run power sector lender Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has approved Rs 93 crore power development schemes for seven districts of Haryana to augment and expand power distribution system under the Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutikaran Yojna (RGGVY).
Under the scheme, free electricity connections and Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) will be provided to the residents living below poverty line (BPL) in the seven districts including Sirsa, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Mewat, Fatehabad and Hisar, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVM) Managing Director Anurag Agarwal said in a review meeting.
However, the schemes, under the RGGVY, for districts of Faridabad and Gurgaon were likely to be approved soon, he added.
Under the RGGVY, the DHBVN planned to provide free electricity connection to 1,25,904 BPL families in its area and it would also create infrastructural capacity for these connections.
