Rajasthan elections: Professionals in politics

Jaipur, Nov 28 (UNI) A large number of professionals, including advocates, engineers, doctors and MBAs are trying their luck in the Rajasthan assembly elections this time.

Advocates, it seems, are finding the political career very attractive, with a total of 74 candidates of the main political parties--the BJP and the Congress-- being qualified LLBs.

As many as 43 candidates of the ruling BJP are LLBs while the number of qualified lawyers among the Congress nominees is 31.

The number of qualified engineers, who are contesting the elections on the BJP ticket, is 10 while six engineers have been fielded by the Congress.

As many as 11 doctors will feel the political pulse of the voters in the state on the Congress ticket while the number of doctors contesting from the BJP camp is six.
