Broad national strategy needed to tackle terrorism: Dhumal
Shimla, Nov 28 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today called for convening the conference of Chief Ministers to meet the challange posed by rising terrorist attacks in the country.
Condemning the Mumbai terrorist attacks, the Chief Minister in a press confrence, here today stressed the need for framing out a broad national strategy to maintain security and peace in the country.
Slamming the Central Government for its failure to take preventive steps to protect the lives of the people, he said ''Terrorist attacks have taken place all over the country in the recent past but the UPA Government has yet to adopt any concrete policy to protect the innocent people.'' He said that there was a need to rise above political and other considerations, work collectively to root out terrorism from the country and protect life and property of the innocent people.
