Three villages in Ambala distt declared 'model'

Chandigarh, Nov 27 (UNI) Haryana has declared the Balana, Bari Ghel and Chhoti Ghel villages of district Ambala as 'Model Villages' after the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam completed the electrical works of providing Aerial Bunched Cable Based System and strengthening the distribution system in these villages.

A spokesman of the Nigam said here today that the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam have jointly made a comprehensive program to strengthen the transmission and distribution network of the district under which various developmental works to be carried out at an estimated cost of Rs 75 crore were being executed.

Giving details, he said that five new 66 KV substations at Naneola, Company Bag, Ugala, Air Force Ambala Cantt and MES Ambala Cantt. As many as three of these substations will be constructed and commissioned during the current financial year.

There is a p roposal of setting up one 66 KV substation at Hisar Road, Ambala City. The construction of a 33 KV substation at village Jaitpura has also been approved.

The UHBVN has started segregation of load of 11 KV feeders supplying electricity to domestic and tubewell consumers of rural areas. As many as 62 feeders have been identified by the Nigam and the work stands completed on 15 feeders.

He said that the UHBVN has completed the work of supplying electricity through aerial bunched cable based system in 14 villages and 7 residential colonies and the work was in progress in 16 more villages.

Referring to the works completed since April, 2005 to September, 2008, he further stated that a new 66 KV substation was commissioned at Sonda. The existing capacity of 66 KV substation aAdhoya, Barara, Mullana, Sector-1 and Sonda has been augmented. As many as 2413 distribution transformers had been added and 201 transformers augmented to strengthen the distribution network.

The UHBVN had also released 1640 tubewell and 648 industrial connections during this period, he added.
