Red alert in entire K'taka: Yeddyurappa
Bangalore, Nov 27: A high alert has been sounded all over Karnataka in view of the terrorists' firing incidents in Mumbai, the economic capital of the country.
Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddiyurappa, who held an emergency high-level meeting of police officials following terror strikes in Mumbai, told newsperson here today the State Police were well prepared to meet any eventuality. He said ''we have reviewed the law and order situation and preparedness of the police, civil defence and fire force to tackle the emergencies.'' The Chief Minister said his government attached utmost priority to public security. ''I appeal to them not to panic but to maintain calm and help the government in taking preventive steps,'' he said. ''High alert has been sounded all over the State,'' he said and added ''IT, BT companies, Shopping Centres, Hotel Owners and other important private organisations will be requested to enhance their private security systems.''
Appealing to people not to panic, he also requested them to co-operate with the security agencies in defeating the designs of the anti-national elements.
