Mumbai terror attack Intelligence failure on part of govt: Malhotra
New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) BJP's Delhi Chief Ministerial candidate Vijay Kumar Malhotra today termed the Mumbai terror attack a proxy war waged against the country by some disillusioned and frustrated elements who wanted India to ''bleed'' and not make rapid progress in every sphere like the way it is achieving at present.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Malhotra expressed sympathy for the families of those security personnel who laid down their lives while fighting terrorists last night and came down heavily on the UPA government at the Centre for what he called ''intelligence failure'' which allowed the terror attack in the financial capital to happen.
He also informed the mediapersons that BJP's Prime Minister-designate L K Advani would go to Mumbai with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take stock of the situation there and only then the BJP would make its position and stand clear on the attack.
''But, no doubt, it is reprehensible and condemnable and we deplore it in the strongest terms possible.'' Asked whether the Parliament attack was not an intelligence failure which took place in the regime of the NDA government, he said all those militants who perpetrated the attack were killed there and then but those who orchestrated terror attacks during UPA government rule were still roaming freely.
