Judge lavishes praise on Blake Fielder-Civil's drug battle 'progress'
London, November 27 : Amy Winehouse's hubby Blake Fielder-Civil has entered the good books of a London judge following his progress against fighting drug addiction.
The 26-year-old had been released early from prison on November 5 after serving almost a year of a 27-month jail sentence following his agreement to check into a rehabilitation facility.
Blake, who was his placed behind the bars in last November for thrashing a pub landlord and attempting to cover up his act, had headed back to court on November 24 to appeal his sentence.
Despite his attorney's plea of calling Blake's time in prison "manifestly excessive", the two judges decided against the request, reports the Daily Star.
They, however, added that they were happy to see the young lad making progress in his battle against drugs and urged him to continue with the treatment.
Mr Justice Pitchford told the court: "We will not leave the appeal without expressing encouragement to the appellant to continue with the progress that he has made in the short time between November 5 and today's hearing, since it is only if these attempts are successful that he has a worthwhile future."
