Condoleezza Rice calls up EAM, offers US assistance
New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice called up External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee to condemn the Mumbai terrorist attacks and expressed US support and assistance in the fight against terrorism.
She also offered condolences to the victims and expressed sympathies with those wounded and the relatives of those killed.
US Ambassador to India, David C Mulford, also offered condolences and all possible assistance to the people of Mumbai and the government of India following the tragic terror attacks.
''The United States Government is shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life caused by these vicious acts of terrorism.
I extend sincere condolences to those injured by these criminal acts and to the families of the victims. The US government has offered extensive assistance to deal with this ongoing crisis and stands ready to assist as the situation unfolds,'' Mr Mulford said.
