CBI files report on evidence in Abhaya murder case
Kochi, Nov 27 (UNI) The CBI today submitted in a sealed cover a report detailing the evidence collected by it against the two accused priests and a nun arrested in connection with the Sister Abhaya murder case.
The report contains the evidence gathered by the CBI before and after November 19, when the three -- Fr Thomas Kottoor, Fr Jose Puthurukkayil and Sr Sephi -- were arrested.
It is learnt that the report also contains the narco-analysis application filed by the CBI earlier, arrest memos served on the accused and the extracts of the case diary.
The court is likely to consider the case tomorrow.
Justice R Basant had yesterday directed the CBI to file a report furnishing the details of the evidence collected against the three accused.
The court issued the direction while hearing petitions filed by the trio challenging the order of CJM, Ernakulam, remanding them to 14 days' CBI custody till December two.
The court had earlier pulled up the CBI for not following the legal formalities while making the remand application seeking the custody of the accused before the CJM's court.
