Business establishments closed to protest murder of scribe
Samastipur, Nov 27 (UNI) All business establishments in this district remained shut today in protest against the murder of a senior journalist of a vernacular daily on Tuesday.
The bandh call was jointly given by the RJD and association of local businessmen which evoked widespread response as commercial activities came to a grinding halt.
Local scribes and businessmen took out a protest march and staged dharna before the Rosra SDO office, demanding immediate arrest of those involved in the killing of the journalist, Vikash Ranjan.
District president of 'Bihar Working Journalists Union' Krishna Kumar said the scribes did not file any news stories today as a mark of protest.
The journalists also threatened to intensify their agitation, if police failed to nab the culprits.
