Advani advocates act to fight terrorism
Mumbai, Nov 27 (UNI) Leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha Lal Krishna Advani today said there is an urgent need to have a strong act to quell terrorism.
Mr Advani was speaking to mediapersons after visiting the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus along with former Finance Minister Jaswant Singh.
He said there should not be any compromise when it comes to dealing with terrorism and POTA was the right act to deal with these type of people.
He, however, said due to differences between the ruling and opposition parties, they had to repeal the act.
The senior BJP leader also informed that he was supposed to come with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today, but he learned that he was going to visit tomorrow, therefore he continued with his programme.
Jaswant Singh said the government though 24 hours have lapsed, has even not been able to bring the situation under control.
''This is not just an intelligence failure, but more importantly the failure of the state and Central governments.'' The two leaders would also be visiting the J J hospital, where they will enquire about well being of the injured persons.
