16 killed in terrorist attacks in Mumbai

Mumbai, Nov 26 (UNI) As many as 16 people, including a policeman, were killed by terrorists tonight in a series of shooting incidents and explosions in one of the worstever attacks on this commercial capital of the country.

While atleast 10 people were killed at the busy Chharapati Shivaji Terminus, a policeman was gunned down by the terrorists near the Metro Cinema as incidents of shooting were reported from 10 places and explosions rocked two taxis in Vile Parle area near the domestic Airport. One person was killed in an explosion on the Dockyard road.

Police said three people were killed in the firing incidents in Taj Mahal Hotel near the Gateway of India.

Meanwhile, at least 40 people were held hostages in Trident Hotel where two terrorists had holed up and a dozen commandos of the Mumbai police were set to storm into the premises.
