Tribals demand withdrawal of police camps from school at Lalgarh
Lalgarh (West Midnapur), Nov 26 (UNI) The Peoples' Committee for Prevention Against Police Atrocities today demanded that the police camp at Ramgarh Mokshada Sundari School here be withdrawn to enable the students continue with their studies.
The tribal body, which will organise a police boycott programme tomorrow, declared that no police camps would be allowed henceforth within the premises of school buildings and panchayat offices.
The agitators also dug up roads at Satpati and Bhimasole in the Salboni area and felled trees at Hatigeria in Keshiary block.
The Shilpi Sanskriti Karmi Buddhijibi Samity, jointly led by journalist Tarun Sanyal and singer Pallab Kirtaniya, arrived here today to support their cause.

The Congress also began a 36-hour sit-in protest in front of the Lalgarh police station, under the leadership of Manash Bhunia.
Meanwhile, the tribals had spurned the district administration's offer for holding conciliatory talks at the Lalgarh police station or the District Magistrate's office in Midnapur, sources said.
