One lakh people to be mobilised for blood donation

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 26(UNI) The Anti-Narcotic Action Centre of India (ANACI) will initiate a major programme aimed at preparing one lakh people to donate blood in an year as part of the World Aids Eradication Observation Day.

The ANACI would observe the Day with various programmes on December one and the blood donors would be found out through awareness programmes and propaganda by the district centres of the ANACI on the same day, a release said here.

Kerala Water Resources Minister N K Premachandran would inaugurate the state-level observation here and 100 people would donate their blood.

Noted film-maker Lenin Rajendran would administer the red-ribbon pledge to 3,000 people on the day.
