No plan to set up refinery in Rajasthan: Oil Sec

New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) Petroleum Secretary R S Pandey today said the government has no plan to develop a refinery at Barmer in Rajasthan.

''The government has no plan to set up a refinery in Rajasthan,'' Mr Pandey said at the Economic Editors' Conference here.

Earlier, it was reported that ONGC was planning to set up a refinery in the state.

The proposed 7.5 million tonne per annum refinery was to process crude oil from Cairn India's field in Barmer, which is expected to start producing in the first half of 2009.
