13 killed, 2 injured in road accident in Tehri

Dehra Dun, Nov 26 (UNI) At least 13 people were killed and two seriously injured when the vehicle they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge near Lambgaon in Tehri district of Uttarakhand.

According to police, a jeep was on its way from Rishikesh to Lambgaon when it fell into a deep gorge around 1730 hrs yesterday.

The accident claimed 13 lives and left three passengers seriously injured who were rushed to a nearby local hospital, police added.

Chief Minister B C Khanduri while expressing deep grief, has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the accident.
