Six booked for hurting religious sentiments in Punjab

Fatehgarh Sahib, Nov 25 (UNI) Six people have been booked for allegedly hurting religious sentiments at Raipur Riyan village Gurudwara near Amloh in this district.

According to police, on the occasion of martyrdom of ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Teg Bahadur, yesterday, a scuffle took place between two groups when the Gurudwara managing committee members raised objection when some people, wearing track suits, tried to distribute 'Degh' (Parshad) to the devotees in the Gurudwara.

In the clash, the Gurudwara managing committee president Sukhdev Singh sustained injuries.

Later, on his statement, the Amloh police registered a case against Harpreet Singh, Bakhish Singh, Rajwinder Singh, Devinder Singh, Baljit Singh and Major Singh under sections 295-A (for hurting religious sentiments), 296, 323, 148, 149 of the IPC. However, no arrest has been made so far.
