Mysore: Revision of voters list ends on Nov 25
Mysuru, Nov 25: Tuesday, Nov 25 is the last day for the revision of voters' list in city. The revision was taken up all over the country under instructions from the Election Commission of India (ECI) from Nov 10.
Though on Monday, Nov 24 was the last day as per the earlier schedule, the revision work has been extended by a day to facilitate the people to take advantage of the process, according to City Corporation Revenue Officer and Asst. Returning Officer Bharathi.
The revision work in the city is going on in 607 polling booths. There is lukewarm response from the public, the officials say.
Inclusion of new names, deletion of names, corrections and transfer from one booth to another are being taken up.
The number of people visiting polling booths was more throughout the city unlike all these days. Officials were present at the booths by 9.45 am today. The revision will conclude at 5.30 pm on Tuesday, Nov 25.
Officials at the booths were seen advising the people to remind their neighbours about the importance of the revision of voters list.
The Election Commission of India will not issue voters Identity Cards to those whose names do not figure in the list.
