Minister holds meeting with Rice merchants to bring down price

Puducherry, Nov 25 (UNI) In an effort to bring down the price of rice in the Union Territory, Civil Supplies Minister M Kandasamy today held a meeting with the Rice Merchents Association here.

Association President Palnivel Mudaliar along with office-bearers and Ms Priyadarshini, Director Civil Supplies and other senior officials participated in the meeting.

According to official sources, the merchants agreed to reduce the price of rice by Re one per kg and to attened meeting with the government officials once in a month, pertaining to the fixation of rice price.
