Madurai: HC transfers forgery case to CB-CID

Madurai, Nov 25: Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department was called in to probe a cheating-cum-forgery case registered against Sangaiah, former Managing Trustee of Irukangudi Mairamman temple in Virudhunagar district, and his son S Ramar.

Justice G Rajasuria passed the orders while allowing a writ petition filed by Soundarajan Poosari who was the managing trustee of the temple between 1999 and 2001. The petitioner claimed that the accused had swindled Rs 15.9 lakh from the temple account by forging certain documents.
