Factory worker commits suicide due to financial problem

Mysore, Nov 25 (UNI) A factory worker, who was agitating over regularisation of his job in an electric bulb factory, committed suicide at the factory premises, where a group of 90 employees have been holding protest since the last few days.

Hanumantha Shetty (36), an employee of Wipro Lighting Limited in Hebbal, consumed pesticide last night as he was not paid salary since October, police said.

Tense situation prevailed at the K R Hospital here following the death of the employee.

After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family members.

The striking workers demanded compensation for the family of the deceased from the company, police added.
