Bee Gee Robin Gibb would rather skip flight than have baggage checked

London, Nov 25 : Bee Gee star Robin Gibb missed a flight to America after refusing to allow airport security staff to search his bag. The singer was randomly selected for an extra hand luggage search as he waited in London's Gatwick Airport's departure lounge for a flight to Las Vegas.

Despite being told by staff he would be unable to board the plane without being searched, Robin refused to hand over his bag.

The 58-year-old singer, who was travelling alone, eventually agreed to be escorted back through security check points - but missed his 4,000 pounds flight.

"It was all very odd. No one could understand what his problem was. He was fairly calm and not ranting. He just seemed annoyed at being singled out," the Mirror quoted an airport source, as saying.

A rep for the singer was not available for comment.
